Message This is Oriental calligraphy as performance art. The artist is writing a very large character on paper laid out on the floor. The calligrapher must be able to completely visualise the final character before he or she begins to write. The brush is usually made with hairs from a horse's tail or mane, as few other animals have hairs long enough to make the brush. The brush would probably require something like six litres of ink to become wet enough to write. Post a Response |
