I have recently seen a photo of a similar seal claiming to be from another emperor's era. This one here claims to be from the QianLong period, but I very seriously doubt it.

The other seal featured a side inscription in very skilfully written seal script, just as this one has. However when a group of us bothered to transcribe and then translate the text we discovered that contained a number of contemporary phrases which would never have been used in the time period claimed.

We also determined that the inscriptions on the side of the seal were almost certainly generated by a modern guided engraving machine.

I suggest you enjoy your very handsome paperweight, I just hope you didn't spend too much money of an item with its definitely NOT what it suggests it is.
