What is the Chinese vases purpose? |
Posted By: CollinC Posted Date: Feb 05, 2018 (10:59 AM) |
Message Most probably this vase is used for Japanese tea ceremony as part of the display implement. It got the wabi-sabi look and feel to it. The design reminds me of the chinese mallet vase but I guess the design might be borrowed from it. The small hole on the top is deliberately fashioned so that only one stalk of flower can be placed on the vase, aptly on the japanese zen approach to minimalistic and natural beauty Post a Response |
