Stew, I figured one of our Japanese contributors might take this on, but I'll make a stab at it in their stead. The mark shown in the middle photo appears to be ้้ทน , which is kanji for the Japanese sparrow hawk (tsumi), also rendered ้้ท, with the same transliteration. Perhaps someone will now offer the deserved critique of my reading and offer some comments on the piece itself, which has a glaze similar to that found on some old Shiwan (Shekkwan) ware from Guangzhou in China.
