This type of Indian work is called "thewa". It is gold foil on glass, typically green, but in recent times and remakes also in fancy other colours. The ancient technique is known only to a few families in Parthabgar in Rajasthan, it started in the late 18th century. The Rajput were closely related to the Moghuls, hence Persian scenes, particularly hunting, but also Hindu idols and symbols. Real old pieces are rare and expensive. For more information see Oppi Untracht's book "Traditional jewelry of India" p. 300 with pictures and a description of the making process. A photo less close-up would be very helpful for further information.
