Message Probably soapstone / steatite, judging by the way it broke when it was dropped. Since it is a soft stone (though can be hardened by heating) it is easily carved by electrical rotary cutting and grinding wheels. Very commonly used for decorative trinket items and household figurines. Search forum for above names and 'Hotei' and you find other examples. Good luck, Cal Post a Response |
