Message Tina, It is likely an original by Toyokuni II from the Chushingura (a fictional account of the revenge by the Forty-seven Ronin for the death of their master). The signature is in the lower right and I can make out the Toyokuni. Also, the censor seals are in the lower right and a date can be determined from them but they are too small in your picture. As far as value goes, Toyokuni II prints often go for a few hundred dollars. I don't follow his prices as avidly as I do other artists. Cheers, Stan Post a Response |
