Subject:Can Someone help identify if these are authentic antique snuff bottles
Posted By: Karen E Young Wed, Mar 01, 2017 IP: 38.101.225.98

I bought these snuff bottles at an estate sale. They appear, to me, to be ivory. Can Anyone help me make an identification?

From the pictures provided, I don't see any Schreger lines - arguing against it being ivory. The link below gives helpful steps to identify ivory.

Snuff bottles are made to carry on your person for easy access to your snuff stash. Most snuff bottles have a relatively smooth finish to allow easy removal from your pocket. Corners and rings make them impractical for daily use. This one looks more decorative than useful. Is there any snuff residue inside to indicate that it was used for its intended purpose?

Cheers,
Stan

There was a white substance in the container. I thought it was an illegal substance so I dumped it out.
