Hi

I want to know how to wash the dirt in this piece of jade.

Is this hetian jade..(old) ?

SG test 9.5

SG test 2.9032 not 9.5 sorry ..

It could be Hetian Jade, except that would have a SG of around 3.
To clean is easy, use water, dish wash detergent and a toothbrush ( not yours) make a scratch test ! !

Nephrite can have a specific gravity of around 2.8+ despite what is written all over the Internet.

It would be interesting if Museums would start to supply this information on their exhibits.

It's as important as dating items by individual Reign,Kangxi,Yongzheng,etc.

You wouldn't accept a vague Qing 1644-1908 or Ming 1368-1643 on pieces of porcelain.

Y tray cleaning with water soap alcohol acetone not working..:(

Still easy, it is plain Nephrite, not colour enhanced, you can put it in boiling water.

If it is not coming off, it is likely "dirt" that has been applied to make the buyer think that the object is older than it is.

Hi
After i put it in boiling water 30 minutes.
Some dirt come off..
Is hetian or not ..(old)?
Now i putted in mineral oil.

Now it looks just right, great. You did all the correct things to restore it. My guess: made around 1960
Wear it on a string on your belt, A well treated jade carvings can do wonderful things for you,
