I'm going to stick my neck out and guess that your plate's surrealistic mark is "Sei Ka Nen Sei" (成化年制 - "Made during the [Ming] Chenghua Reign), as written by a kiln calligrapher who'd just realized he was late for his wedding...perhaps to the local sword-maker's daughter.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thanks Bill

So what you are saying: Modern japanese imitation of chinese porcelain?

Not necessarily, but you appeared to be interested mainly in the mark. There's a category of Chinese blue & white export porcelain made for Japanese market called "Shonzui", the Japanese term for "Landscape" ("Shanshui" in Mandarin pinyin). "Shonzui dates from the late Ming-Early Qing era and also was produced domestically in Japan around the same time. The Chenghua mark was used apocryphally on Japanese and Chinese porcelain about the same time. I have no extensive collecting experience in Shonzui wares, so hopefuly another collector can pick it up for you from here.

Best regards,

Bill H.
