Subject:Bronze Gandhara Buddha
Posted By: Thomas Johnson Tue, Nov 24, 2020 IP: 82.34.65.105 Hi, I bought this very strange Bronze buddha in the style of a 4-5 AD stone carving. It is Bronze, it seems, but I don't know anything about Patina, it just looked much more authentically old than a lot of the fake bronzes. It also appears to have bronze disease. Any ideas concerning the authenticity of the patina would be very much welcomed. |

Posted By: Thomas Johnson Thu, Feb 11, 2021 oh... that's not a great sign. I paid round £500.. what are your thoughts on it? I have another buddha that I'm going to get TL tested. This one the seems to have a plaster core rather than porcelain. I will take it in at the same time as the other one and see what they think.. How long have you had yours? how much did you pay. Thanks |
