Subject:Chinese Silver Cup
Posted By: Peter Tue, Dec 29, 2020 IP: 178.165.128.211

Are there any experts out there who might be able to translate the markings on the base of this small Chinese silver cup ?
An approximate age, if possible, would also be appreciated.

Many thanks !!!

足紋 - Zuwen (Foot print = Fine grained silver) -

The best I can make out in the last photo, rotated 90 degrees to the left, the top mark appears to be 盛源 for Sheng Yuan. He operated in Peking approximately from the late 1800s to the mid-20th century. The lower mark 银 is Chinese for silver. It also looks like a name was engraved on the cartouche. I cannot make out the characters. Corrections to my interpretations are welcome if in error.
