Subject:Ivory Napkin Rings
Posted By: Steve Gridley Thu, Dec 24, 2020 IP: 96.244.150.12 I received these napkin rings as a gift about 10 years ago. I don't think they are terribly old but nicely done. In light of the ivory peanut, I posted these to give another look at writing on ivory for any input (including translation and artist if possible). |

The cloud form and red seal are quite similar, and the scattered dark dots in the surfaces bring to mind capillaries in bone, which are lacking in ivory. Based on the shape of the red seal, which resembles the island of Taiwan, I believe my vase and your napkin rings both come from there. |
