Subject:unknown artist Japanese woodblock prints c 1930
Posted By: BB Sat, Dec 19, 2020 IP: 2603:8001:6701:4173: HI! I have about 10 prints, inherited from a relative who lived in Japan in the 1930s. Most of them are by Hiroshi Yoshida or Kawase Hasui but there are three that I can't identify. Anyone out there who might know? One is terribly damaged by mold and I am trying to figure out if I should try to have it restored. Thank you! |

Posted By: Steve Gridley Sun, Dec 20, 2020 My 2¢ worth: I can’t help with the artist or value but the last woodblock has nice colonies of what appear to be black mold, possibly Stachybotrys or Memnoniella. I would remove the mat and disinfect and discard it immediately as it adds nothing to the value of the woodblock. |
