Subject:Help with mark on Yixing tea pot
Posted By: sylvia Wed, Nov 18, 2020 IP: 75.162.117.51 Could anybody tell me what does the mark say and when this teapot was made? I placed the mark both ways because I don't know how it's supposed to be. Thank you in advance! |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Nov 19, 2020 This appears to be the seal-script mark of Chen Mingyuan, who worked at Yixing during the Kangxi-Yongzheng period. Original pots by Chen are few and far between nowadays except in museum and other major collections, although they occasionally are featured in sales by principal auction houses.
