Subject:Art Identification, Signature Translation
Posted By: Caliginous Empath Fri, Nov 13, 2020 IP: 2603:9001:5107:1b7f:

Greetings, I am hoping to ascertain the identity of the artist associated with this particular composition. The media used in this painting appears to be oil on canvas. I believe that the signature present on the lower extremities of the piece is Chinese, as I input the characters that could be viewed clearly into an online translation services utility that rendered similar results. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

尹凞壽 画 - Painted by Yun Hui-su - Korean
surname and given name.
Probably an artist of Korean origin in Japan.
The picture depicts typical Japanese peasant women in the landscape with a Mt. Fuji type volcano in the background.
Just in case, the Chinese reading of name; Yin Xishou.

With regards,
I.Nagy
