The red mark in a square border, beneath a wax seal of the Guangdong Provincial No. 1 Cultural Relics Bureau, reads down and across from its top right (when rotated slightly to the right), 'Made by the Spring Forest Pavilion' (Chun lin ge zhi - 春林閣製). This is a Republic-period mark, of which I've seen one other example with similar decoration and a cyclical mark of the year 1922. I don't believe there is a cyclical month mentioned in the inscription on your pot, just what looks to be some verse about the female figures shown and a mention that it is a product of the Spring Forest Pavilion done at Zhushan, that being another name for Jingdezhen.

This form of pot is known colloquially around Straits Chinese communities in spots such as Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia as a 'kamcheng' pot, but the latter typically would have a brighter decorative theme, often featuring the phoenix and peony.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Inscriptions,
玉人如花月 美色正華
The loved one is like the flowers and the moon
Her beauty is that of the pure flowers
書於珠山之西軒
Painted at Xixuan in Zhushan (District of Jingdezhen)
春林閣出品 - Chunlin-ge (Chunlin Pavilion)
Manufactured

Bottom marking,
春林閣 - Chunlin Pavilion (Spring Forest Pavilion)
Chunlin Pavilion was a porcelain workshop in Jiangxi, Jingdezhen during the period of Republic of China.

With regards,
I.Nagy
