Subject:Taizan Vase

I have a 10" Beautiful Raised Floral Vase made by Taizan. I am trying to find out When it was made and by Who, since the last Taizan died in 1922.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

As Tony Allen has noted in his latest book, 'Allen's Antique Chinese Porcelain - The Detection of Fakes', the USA Congress created a Truth in Labeling law in 1914, requiring the words 'Made in' followed by the country name, which was supposed to appear on all foreign import goods. However, due to the start of World War I in the same year, enforcement of that law generally is believed to have been delayed until after 1919, the year after the war ended. Thus a good date for your vase would be 'After 1919' or 'Circa 1920', consideringg the date of the last Taizan's death.

Thanks for confirming the dating of "Made in Japan" markings. Taizan Yohei 9th died in 1922, but as I wrote Ron Decker in a previous post about the same vase, this is not a Taizan Yohei signature. Yohei signed with 帯山 or 帶山 together with "Dai Nippon", or "Nippon, in Japanese Kanji. There is no evidence that marks with the Taizan name written like 泰山 or 對山 are Taizan Yohei signatures. Unfortenately there is nothing known about the last 2 names.

Sorry but this is nothing like the work of Taizan (1856-1922)
