Posted By: Kevin Donnelley Sat, Oct 17, 2020 IP: 69.120.217.104

Hoping to learn the origin of this piece which shows quite a bit of age
The jar was coil built and smoothed on a wheel. Some light wheel marks can be seen around the body. the glassy glaze coat has a purple- brown hue in direct light; wiped everted flat lip; a brown slip coat covers the deep red clay- potter's mark on the string cut foot, the flattish foot is slightly concave at the mid section.
H: 9 .75"; 24.8 cm
Diam: 7 .5" ; 24.8cm

Thank you for looking

Kind regards

Kevin

adding more photos of the purplish brown glaze, the flat everted lip rim where the glaze had been wiped away, coiling of the interior walls, and a sideview of the base.
w/ the right amount of direct light, tiny flecks appear in the translucent glaze as it changes color from black to the purplish brown
