Is it jade? How old is it? If somebody can comment I would appreciate it.

Hi Elena,
It's difficult to determine the material/age of your carving. The pictures blur when expanded.
I think your item is highly probable jade (moss in snow). Circa republican period 1912-1949.

The material of your piece looks very unique, based on its look and luster it is possibly made of jadeite or maw sit sit. The carving is not bad, much better than most modern pieces that are currently available. You did not state its size and if it is pretty big and is indeed made of jadeite, that it can be a pretty good piece. I agree with Mark that it can be an early Republican piece. You may want to ask an expert to test its material and do not want to test it yourself since its looks very delicate. Thanks for sharing. Super (Bill)
