Gary,

I help when/where I can. Like you, I have no Japanese language skills. Thank goodness that I. Nagy is so generous with his time.

I am a woodblock print collector. I can recognize the signatures of many of the more common artists from the Edo and Meiji periods. That gives me a start on identification.

Generally, I turn my nose up at anything after about 1900 and am pretty iffy about Meji era prints. Thus, newer prints like this one are outside my knowledge area. I just do an image search and point you to what I find. It makes me look really knowledgeable! ;-)

The print in the link below was more challenging for me (and more fun). I'm waiting for I. Nagy to tell me how accurate I was in the information I gleaned from the web.

Happy to have been able to help.

Cheers,
Stan

Sounds good to me! That Geisha Print looks great! Nice and early and would look good in any serious collection I would bet! Gary K

Thought it would be an earlier Print by the patina of age. Shows you can't really be just assuming things all the time thats the reason I pick your brains so much on pieces I come across. I want the Art to be more then just a pretty picture. And like you I love the Research sometimes more then the piece itself! Keep on keeping on! And Thank You! Best Regards, Gary K
