Subject:Lion Vase with Kangxi mark

Fellow art lovers,

I'd like to get a second opinion on the below vase. When I put it out here in 2005 there was some discussion whether it was new or 80-90 years old (Republic era) as the dealer claimed. I suspect Anna was right and it is new, but she didn't quite nail it down in the discussion in the link below.

In any case, it is an attractive vase and it is different than much of what I see displayed herein.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry imo it's not republic period but a product of the later 20th century.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your confirmation. No big surprise there. We bought it for its decorative value, but the dealer claimed that it was earlier. I probably should have mentioned size. It is 14 inches tall.

Right now it is sitting in the middle of our dining room table on a small wooden stand for lack of a better place. It makes a decent centerpiece.
