Subject:porcelain maker mark?

Can anyone identify this maker mark? I have no reason to believe this imari style plate is either very old or very new. It is old enough to show discoloration along the tiny inner surface cracks. the atypical shape and off-white background suggest it may be other than Chinese, perhaps Japanese...

This mark (shown upside down in the first image) appears to be on a fairly modern dish, probably dating to the late 20th century or subsequently. I found information at one site indicating it may be pronounced 'Hachi-shu', a term meaning Japan's 'Eight provinces of the Edo Period'. The mark shown on the website was in red, with 'IMPERIAL IMARI' above it in two lines and 'JAPAN' beneath.

Hopefully, the forum's Japanese experts will weigh in with their expert commentaries.

Bill is right, in Sino-Japanese (ON-reading) the characters 八州 spell Hachi-shu (pronounced Hasshu), meaning 8 provinces.
IMO this is a name: Yasu in native Japanese KUN-reading. Probably 1930's. However, I have no information about this studio or person.
There are marks like this with text above like: Imari, Imperial Imari, Old Gorgeous Imari and Kutani, in some cases with the text "Japan" underneath such marks.

I have a vase/vessel, very unusual shape, hand-painted with an immortal and flying cranes, and symbols, exact same stamp/mark on the bottom, and I’ve gotten some information about it. I know this is three years after you first posted this question but if you’re still interested you can contact me at my email address and I will be happy to send you the information I have, photos of what I have. I try to send it on this page and the photos are too large. I don’t know how to make them smaller. But I got information from an expert that has many recordings of this particular mark on the bottom, even attached to Imari and Kutani… But the expert says the way it’s done it indicates that it’s not Imari or Kutani… He said it was very strange. So if you’re still out there reach out to me and I will send you the photos I have and the info I have.
