Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jul 17, 2020 The inscriptions on the vase are auspicious blessings. The one shown at the left appears to me to read down as '扬开五福' (Yang kai wu fu), 'Start spreading the Five Blessings'. The one at the right side reads '佳子白頭' (Jia zi bai tou), 'Have a good old age'. Both of these expressions seem suitable for use on the occasion of an anniversary or new year's event. I've not come across a similar vase before but would guess its doesn't date much earlier than the mid-20th century. |
