Subject:Help translate the inscription from Harunobu's diptych
Posted By: Yura Sun, Jun 07, 2020 IP: 176.106.204.132

Dear forum members
Please help me find out whether the diptych Harunobu Suzuki, where two girls collect mushrooms can be considered surimono?
That is, is the text above the left half of the diptych a poetry invitation or greetings?
Signature - Harunobu ga (鈴木春信画) and Suzuki Harunobu ga (鈴木春信画)
Thanks in advance

Yes, it looks like a surimono,
Inscriptions in my rough translation,
あけぼののちぎりもまさやおとめかな
新成門 文夂
Akebono no chigiri mo masaya otome ka na
Shin-Naruto bunchi
Promises of the daybreak can be true - these maidens !
Shin-Naruto - Probably a shop name
bunchi means ; end of inscriptions

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thanks a lot Dear Imre Nagy!

It's great to know that thanks to you my guess turned out to be correct.

Best wishes Yura
