Subject:Re: Help with a Yixing teapot

The mark under the lid reads 'Hongquan' (洪泉), which online sources indicate is the given name of Fan Hongquan (范洪泉), an Yixing master who was born in 1941 and entered into training at the Yixing purple sand teapot factory in 1956 under Wu Yungen (吳雲根), eventually achieving high distinction in his own right.
I found a June 2019 spring Yixing wares auction catalog where the China Guardian firm had one of Fan's pots for sale with and estimate of RMB 15,000-20,000 (USD 2,200-3,000). No info on what the hammer price was.
Best regards,
Bill H.
