Subject:rural vase-MIng?

Hi
I would appreciate any help with identifying bthe mark on the vase. My preliminery research shows it is Chinese called ginger jar, most likely from Ming Dynasty as similar vases can be found on the Internet. The mark according to me is Shen sign. As it is religious sign I assumed the vase must have been owned or even made by a monk.

These jars are common household storage vessels, found everywhere the Chinese diaspora went. They could be found for example in the Australian goldfields, where Chinese miners went to make their fortune.

More likely Qing dynasty than Ming. And probably still being made into the early years of the 20th century.

The mark on the base is not Shen 神, it is Zhong 仲 which has a general meaning of 'second' or 'middle'. Not a religious mark, so unlikely to have been made by a monk.

Many thanks. Is there any way to distinguish the Ming and Quin dynasty vases? Is there any way you can tell the age? I found similar vases both from Ming and Quin period.
