Subject:Qijia Culture Vessel ?
Posted By: Bob Stevens Wed, Apr 15, 2020 IP: 24.145.13.194 I will call this unknown & seek your thoughts. It is 11.5" tall, 8" wide. I feel it is Qijia Culture Chinese & quite early red-ware type pottery. It is cord impressed wood plank pattern. Possibly Yellow River Region of Gansu Eastern Qinghai China. One of the earliest Bronze age cultures. Looks like a possible neck area repair? I do not know the purpose of the holes but is as made. For me a bit confusing piece & would like thoughts? Thank you,,,bob |
