Subject:japanese Fukagawa bowl?
Posted By: Giuseppe Sat, Feb 29, 2020 IP: 85.225.86.154 I would like help to understand if this bowl is a Fukagawa. I could not find examples of fukagawa ceramics stylistically similar to this, however, the brand behind it seems to be that of Fukagawa. I don't know if the writing behind it is Japanese and if it is the name of the craftsman. |

The white, crackled feldspathic glaze, the iron brown-dressed rim, and the stoneware (not porcelain) clay body fit best with a Kyoto attribution. It could have been made in the late Meiji period but more likely well into the 20th century. |
