Subject:Antique(?) Box - Lid Translation & What Exactly Is It ?.
Posted By: Peter Fri, Jan 17, 2020 IP: 178.115.130.78

Hello,
I've got the opportunity to acquire an old(?)unusual small metal Chinese box with lid. The lid appears to be marked with various symbols and chinese script. Can any experts kindly interpret the signs/script and suggest the intended use of the box? Many thanks in advance,

Peter

Thank you once again Mr(?)Nagy for spending your time and effort in helping solve my queries. Your translation is very interesting - and furthermore, I have at least a better idea as to the purpose of the box.

Sincere best wishes
Peter
