Posted By: Bill H Wed, Nov 13, 2019 I suspect the cover on your ginger jar isn't original. I've observed that such jars sold with ginger inside usually had a matching dome shaped ceramic cover over the top and a cork plug sealing the mouth. (See Photo) Judging by the lack of evident wear and the faux mark of "Kangxi Nian Zhi - 康熙年製 - Made during the Kangxi Reign", I'd say your jar is no older than the first quarter of the 20th century, and possibly later. |
