Subject:Strange blue hardstone carving with silver inlay
Posted By: Mike Thu, Oct 10, 2019 IP: 177.32.123.28

I got this hardstone carved "bottle" with this dragon inlay in silver.
The dragon seems a nice work to me, but i cant find anything about this stone. It looks opaque at first glance but reflects light with a very intense bluish shine.
Any information about the stone, or even period will be of great help, since i can't find nothing like this in the internet.

Thanks,

Mike

The top of the carving seems to be a Serpentine, but the blue sheen baffles me. I hope someone can help with this.

I believe your vase is made from Asurite Malachite.
Interesting material. Semi-precious stone.
Carving looks modern.

AS your vase has healing qualities, I suggest that you keep it in your bedroom. If you live a clean life, you will be happy when you are over 90 years old, that you followed my suggestion.
This is definitely not a vase which you should sell.
