Posted By: Pam Sun, Sep 15, 2019 IP: 2601:180:6:42bb:95b3

Can anyone help with any info on this beautiful vase? Such as possible age, identify mark etc? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I believe that the main mark on the base is an apocryphal Qianlong reign mark, likely from the latter half of the 20th century.

Regards, Tom

You have a transfer-decorated vase from one of the Hong Kong ceramics-ornamenting shops, with a four-character faux mark of 'Made during the Qianlong Reign' (乾隆年製 - Qianlong Nian Zhi) and some factory markings. The latter ones that are readable include a couple of characters at the top right corner of the reign mark, including what may be a seal-script version of the surname Zhu (朱), on its right side just above the corner, and the character Fang (仿 - 'Imitation), upside down within square borders at the right. A review of the gotheborg.com archive indicates this style of mark possibly dates to around the mid-20th century.

Best regards,

Bill H.
