Subject:Chinese Eggshell Bowl - Paited or Transfer
Posted By: Beege Sun, Jul 28, 2019 IP: 2a02:c7d:2a2d:7500:b

Good afternoon all.
This small bowl (10.5cm diameter) is so fine as to have almost no weight whatsoever. If I slide my fingers over the surface, the decorations feels 'raised'.
Can anybody tell me whether this is a transfer or it has been painted...and can anybody please translate the stamp on the bottom and the calligraphy around the bowl?
Thank you for your help.

Unless you bought your bowl from the person who posted a query about one this past March (Link), I'd say that your bowl is entirely transfer-decorated, because the two appear to be identical in every respect (see image below). In any event, all your answers and more preceded you at the link.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hi Bill.
Please accept my apologies. I did indeed previously ask questions on this bowl: I could not find the original thread and begun to doubt myself. Sorry for wasting your time and thank you for your help.
Regards

FYI, this is another post that was reposted redundantly. I believe the cyclical year in the inscription was 'renwu' (壬午), 1942. The year 1967 came in the 'dingwei' (丁未) year.

Best regards,

Bill H.
