Subject:3 Antique Chinese Paintings
Posted By: Brett Mon, Jul 22, 2019 IP: 69.113.7.85

Can anyone help ID the artists on these pieces? They look pretty old, but I came across about 10 different paintings. I figured I would start with these 3. One of them had an envelope attached to the back with an old piece of paper with characters on it. Any idea what this says? Thanks for any help.

The first two examples are indeed reproductions of prints by the Japanese Artist Tsuchiya Rakusan. They were cut from pages of the Foster booklet (link to article attached). 樂山 reads 'Rakuzan' in Japanese. The designs shown are from numbers 17 and 36 in the first series.

Should be "Kwo Da-Wei" I think: 郭大維
He also wrote a book for western practitioners on Chinese brushwork
