Subject:Info on Chung Wei, artist from Ji-yang, 18th/19th century

In the 90s, I inherited a gigantic silk scroll (102" x 58") and had it looked at by Dr. Milan Mihal at Vanderbilt. At the time, he believed it was painted by Chung Wei, who was from Ji-yang, "dating between the 18th and 19th century" possibly older. Dr. Marshall Wu from Michigan believed it was a "minor artist of the 19th century." I was wondering if anyone had access to data that might provide further information on this artist or painting?

First, the romanizations of the signature:
曁陽陳渭　-　寫　（Painted)
Piyin: Jiyang Chen Wei
Wade: Chiyang Ch'en Wei
Cantonese: Chiyeung Chan Wai

曁陽　-　Jiyang as toponym used to be a province name in the Jin and Tang Dynasties (Now a part of Jiangsu)
I think it's a psudonym cca." extending to the positive principle"
I read the upper seal,
陳渭之印　-　Seal of Chen Wei
Unfortunately I can't read the other seals.

I could not find Qing or earlier painter with this name.

the information you received sounds on track, but the artist's name should be romanized as Chen Wei 陳渭, Chen being the surname. I see two people by this name in imperial times, but neither seemingly your artist (one a calligrapher who also painted landscapes, the other a poet and calligrapher from Zhejiang province during the 18th century). Your photo is blurry but the painting seems to be of decent quality.

Thank you to the two people who replied. I appreciate you for taking the time to review. This painting is gorgeous and the colors and quality are beautiful, so I really enjoy it. My uncle had this. He was a very wealthy designer in Washington DC and had several nice Asian pieces. My iPhone didn’t take great pictures, I will try and get better ones. It will be first of Aug before I can do that.
