The carving represents one of the three Chinese Star Gods、 Shouxing 壽星 or Longevity Star God
His long beard and staff denote his old age and the peach, which he holds is culled from that miraculous tree, which blossoms every three thousand years and only fruits tree thousand years after.
Marking on bottom reads,
大明 - Da Ming - Great Ming Empire
Apocryphal mark,
20th cenrury or subsequent carving.
