My reading and translation of text,
分互其下翁墜吾道介可
山石止中而餽青竹下也
乙未年 法嗣
平山 (Seal)
Our paths here diverge, old man you may fall down
When the mountain stones stop to fall, I'll
offer green bamboos to feed your spirit
In the Year of Wood-Sheep (...1955,2015)
Hōshi (Sucessor of principle) - Title of priest
Heizan (Seal) - Name of priest
A Buddhist story unknown to me, maybe someone else may have an idea of it. However, the feeding the spirit of the dead with green bamboo may suggest a Taoist line also.
With regards,
I.Nagy
