Posted By: Tom Aspden Sat, Jun 01, 2019 I'm afraid I must disagree with you, due to the fact that it has a visible grain on the bottom. It is also at such an angle so that it is mammoth ivory. |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Sat, Jun 01, 2019 OK, most likely you are right. I had only the pictures to go by. |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Sat, Jun 01, 2019 What is your reason for not showing the grain, nor mentioning it in your original posting. |

Posted By: Tom Aspden Sun, Jun 02, 2019 I had mentioned that it was ivory in the title, as well as this, I though that the grain was noticeable enough on the final picture of the base. Besides, I did not feel that the grain was of significant importance to my question, due to the fact that it was of the translation. |

Posted By: Tom Aspden Sat, Jun 01, 2019 Thank you for your opinion, what makes you think it is a copy? I know that it is unlikely to be old due to the fact that it's mammoth ivory, but I did not buy it under the misapprehension that it was anything else. I would be grateful for a development of your opinion. Tom |

Posted By: Tom Aspden Sun, Jun 02, 2019 Thank you Stan, I realise that it was difficult to notice any grain on the stomach and head, but that is just due to the photographs, it is more pronounced in the flesh. In addition I had been informed by the seller that it was likely to be relatively new, so I didn't expect it to be anything else. Thanks again, Tom |
