Subject:Chinese reign mark
Posted By: Julie R. Thu, Apr 25, 2019 IP: 96.232.131.183

Hello,

Need assistance with a reign mark. I’ve never seen a reign mark with red circles are it. I’m far from an expert!! The piece is a considered private party purchase. Any information would be most appreciated!!

Thank you,
Julie

The mark reads down and across from the right in two stacks as 大清光緒年製 (Da qing Guangxu nian zhi), "Made during the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty". Based on the style of the mark, the piece, which should always be shown here, probably is a late 20th century decorative product of a porcelain ornamentation factory in Macao.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you Bill for the response to both my questions. With respect to the seller I didn’t want to post pix without permission. Posting 2 pix.

Not sure if I can post here regarding an old blanket truck I have. I believe it to be very old based on the hinges and manufacturing technique. Please advise.

Thank you!!

The vase is, as suspected, a late 20th century transfer-decorated Macao product.

The "blanket truck" query is best posted separately.

Best regards,

Bill H
