Subject:does anyone recognize this mark?

Does anyone recognize this mark? It's at the bottom of an old Chinese ink on vellum drawing I found. Thank you in advance!

It's most probably the hand stamped collector's seal of Carl Mienzil (1855-1916) who collected Japanese prints in Vienna at the end of the 19th century. Can you post an image of your drawing?

Guy.

IMO, this is a Japanese preliminary drawing, eventually for a woodblock print, depicting children and the First Calligraphy of the New Year (子宝吉書初 - 'kissho hajime') - writing wishes or congratulations for the beginning of the New Year, a subject that was popular first half 19th century.

Guy.
