Subject:Your thoughts about very well painted Republic era? vase
Posted By: Yurike Wed, Mar 27, 2019 IP: 71.121.170.65 Acquired this vase recently. From research here and online, I have found that the mark reads Made for the Hall where Benevolence Resides - Jurentang Zhi for Yuan Shikai the Hongxian Emperor. The diameter is 14.25" widest, height is 7". It is very well painted by hand and is not a transfer ware piece. The white has a slight blueish tint. The mark is in iron red. Your thoughts and impressions are greatly appreciated. More detail pics to come. Thank you. |

Here's a jardinière and another vase, which if not period, were made only a few years after the Hongxian Emperor's death. Both are exquisitely decorated and bear Jurentang marks more in keeping with the times. |
