Subject:Seeking Enlightenment Re: Blue & White Chinese Charger
Posted By: Karl Habeck Mon, Mar 18, 2019 IP: 184.100.33.204

Having enjoyed the wealth of information offered in this forum for many years, I am now making my first posting.
The scalloped edge of this charger is decorated with an odd design that is unknown to me. It appears to be a plant or some type of flower bud. The charger is also marked with faintly impressed Chinese characters on the base. I was only able to see the characters under the glaze with the aid of a camera and soft lighting. The glaze has a few rust spots and contractions. There are no spur marks. 40 cm (16") by 6 cm (2 1/4")
Any input on these matters, or the charger in general, would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards and Thanks, Karl.
