Posted By: Bill H Fri, Mar 15, 2019 Hi Martin, I believe those nearly upside down characters may give you almost as much trouble as they give me. That red one looks to me a bit less like 壽/Kotobuki/Ju and more like 嘉/Ka/yomisuru/yoi, meaning applaud; praise; esteem; happy; auspicious (and the first part of the Jiaqing Emperor's reign title in China). However, you'll always have the edge on me when it comes to deciding the Japanese meanings. |
