Subject:Miniature Figurine
Posted By: Becky Douglas Sat, Mar 09, 2019 IP: 75.191.128.60

I purchased this figurine and stand and was wondering if anyone could provide me with any information. The only info I got was that it was carved out of stone.

It is a netsuke. in the second picture, note the holes for the string where it is attached to the sash of a kimono. The pictures are not good enough to guess the material. It doen't look like ivory. It is 20th century or newer and of mediocre quality.

Cheers,
Stan

By the two holes on the back of one of the figures, suggests this was intended as a netsuke.
