I did tried to research it, but sadly was not able to find same jar.

Can someone please translate characters?

All the best

The characters appear to be:

上详小東门內, 童亟春堂監製 (Shang xiang Xiao dong men nei, Tong han chun tang)

While I could not find an exact duplicate of this jar and inscription either, I did come across a 2010 brief mention online of a medicinal wine-making company called Tonghanchun in Raoping County, Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. If I'm on the right track here, The jar inscription might be translated in context as, "Prime goodness, located in Little East Gate, with production supervised by the Hall of Youthful Armor of Springtime".

Although this was a recent citation, such a firm would not necessarily be so new. However, I would hope someone else has the resources to verify these findings.

Good luck,

Bill H.

In addition to Bill`s posting,
The Small East Gate (小東門)is located south of the Bund of Shanghai at the entrance to the east of Yu Yuan Garden. There are 3 old Western-style buildings on the right of the gate. The building next to the gate having the address of People`s Road No.1. This house has a big
vertical four golden characters sign (童涵春堂) "Tong Han Chun Tang" on the cornering facade.
This is the oldest pharmacy in China, founded in the 48th year(1873) of emperor Qianlong and still in use.
With regards,
I.Nagy
