Subject:Qianlong Blue Glazed Bowl Seal Mark
Posted By: John Thu, Nov 22, 2018 IP: 94.197.121.149 Hi Guys! I acquired this bowl from a family member. It looks very nice it has a few chips on the piece, but it is marked with the Qianlong Seal Mark. The mark looks spot on comparing it, but I'm not sure if Real. The mark does look good, I wondered if I could ask for some opinions. It would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks |

The hue of the blue glaze seems a bit cloudy for either imperial or popular Qianlong wares, which I believe tended toward brighter sky blues. Also, the bowl itself has the look of machine-made perfection that suggests it may be a modern slip-cast product, apparently soft-paste based on the biscuit revealed by rim chipping. |
