I am looking for information about this vase such as age, rarity and collectability. It was found in a thrift shop. Thank you.

The glaze and interior biscuit colors suggest this might be a product of the Guangdong provincial kilns at Shiwan, in suburban Guangzhou (Canton). The foot has an enormous amount of dirt, possibly applied artificially to make the piece look older. The base appears to have vestiges of a hand-painted "CHINA" mark beneath another unfathomable notation in the same color paint or pigment. The mark and wear to the foot indicate the possibility of your vase dating to the period between 1890 and about 1920, when the "MADE IN CHINA" marking came into use.

Best regards,

Bill H.
