Subject:Jade dragon?
Posted By: Jade dragon Mon, Nov 19, 2018 IP: 2001:980:57ae:1:5c8b

Dear,

I have this dragon in my possession, it feels an looks like a heavy stone.
It is from a small auction house 20 years ago.
I have never seen a little statue like this, does anyone knows the material? Or the age?

Thanks for your help!

From what I can see, it looks like a softer stone, and it is most likely Serpentine. A scratch test will tell:Use a strong needle and make a 2-3 mm scratch, using enough pressure until you see a tiny white or a black line, then tell us what you see.
Ernest

Dear Ernest, thanks a lot.

I did the scratch test again, but a lot harder with an iron pin. The stone went away, there was no white line, but also no dark line. But it is a yellow white stone, so i think it is serpentine.
I think it is a replica, but have never seen such a statue in the old dynasties, do they exits?

Thanks Moon
