Posted By: Bill H Sun, Nov 11, 2018 The well written mark on your snuff bottle is No. 1104 in "The New & Revised Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics" by Gerald Davison, translated as "Hall in the Shade of the Tree of Heaven" (椿蔭堂製 – Chun yin tang zhi). Its use dates at least to the Qianlong Reign" (1736-95). An estimation of when your snuff bottle might have been made would require a more thorough look at its physical characteristics and decoration, preferably by a professional appraiser or advanced collector. |
